叶芝写《当你老了》的时候是在替一个不爱他的人想象晚年。这首歌我没有走凯尔特竖琴那条顺理成章的路，而是给它配了宝莱坞对唱的声色——印度斯坦式的转音落在英文诗上，隔着一层，反而把那种「隔着一生看一个人」的距离感做出来了。
它和《月亮过山路》《永恒夏天》是同一条签名线上的三首。我是先做出来、后才发现它们共用同一种声音的。
Yeats wrote When You Are Old imagining the old age of a woman who did not love him. I did not take the obvious Celtic-harp road with it. I gave it the voice of a Bollywood duet instead — Hindustani ornament landing on an English poem, a layer of distance in between, and that distance is exactly what produced the feeling of looking at someone across an entire lifetime.
This one, Moon Over the Mountain Road and Eternal Summer sit on the same signature line. I made them first and only afterwards noticed they shared a voice.

Yeats verkis When You Are Old imagante la maljunecon de virino, kiu ne amis lin. Mi ne prenis kun ĝi la evidentan vojon de kelta harpo.
